Rail Projects Victoria (RPV) is the Victorian Government body responsible for the delivery of the Metro Tunnel Project, Regional Rail Revival, the high speed rail link between Geelong and Melbourne and the future Melbourne Airport Link. RPV is responsible for all aspects of the projects including planning and development of a project reference design, site investigations, stakeholder engagement, planning approvals and procurement, through to construction delivery and project commissioning.

The Commercial and Legal Team Advisor provides general advice and support to the RPV Commercial and Legal team by providing support to the broader commercial and legal functions of the team. This includes liaising with multi-disciplinary teams across the project and external organisations, in relation to activities being undertaken by the team. This role works independently in a complex environment and will have to be flexible to successfully support a team where the priorities change daily.

• Knowledge of environmental and planning approvals processes, including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) or Environmental Effects Statements (EES) will be highly regarded.

You will be working collaboratively and building strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and ensuring a focus on proactive risk management and achieving safe outcomes during design and construction. About the role: As an Engineering Intern, you will gain practical skills and knowledge through real life projects by supporting the project team through engineering and administrative tasks the projects engineers are engaged on. Here you will gain firsthand experience and see what working in a prolific Melburnian Rail Project is like, specifically within the Rail Systems Alliance (RSA). This 12 month paid internship program is designed to excel your learning and development in specific disciplines related to the rail industry. These internships will focus on discipline areas such as Train Control, Communications (radio systems, communications infrastructure), Site Operational Control Systems (OCS), Industrial Control Systems, Networks & Security and OCS Software. To be considered for this internship, you’ll need to have a strong work ethic and the ability to manage own tasks and workloads, communicate effectively with all levels of management staff (whether it be verbal or written), and be able to follow OH&S and environmental procedures in the rail industry. Eligibility: To be eligible for this program you must:

• be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• be currently in your 3^rd or 4^th year in the RMIT School of Engineering
• have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or greater in your current program
• have at least another 12 months’ worth of subjects to complete
• be available for a 12 months paid internship at Metro Trains
• be available to attend an interview at the RSA Office of the Metro Tunnel Project based at 628 Bourke Street, if you are shortlisted.

The Metro Tunnel Project
About the role: As the Senior Communications Project Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the definition, design, development, test and commissioning of communications infrastructure to be delivered within RSA’s scope of works for the project. MTM are required to integrate newly delivered systems into the operational environment along with providing ongoing engineering support post commissioning. Tasks will include liaising with professional and technical staff, scope definition, requirements derivation, interface definition, design issue management and integration/commissioning activities. About your experience:
You will have knowledge of MTM’s Completion obligations under the Public Administration Act (PAA) including engaging with key stakeholders and supporting the successful delivery of the project. If successful, you will ultimately contribute to the specification, development, installation and through life support of OCS/ICT communications arrangements. You will have demonstrated experience in:

• Co-ordinating complex rail systems designs
• Whole of life Systems engineering activities (at least five years of Systems Engineering or related experience)
• Undertaking fibre optic cabling design including cable running plans, cable records, specifications, link budgets, core allocations and testing and commissioning documents
• Railway systems (specifically technology systems) or equivalent industrial operational environment is desirable
• Knowledge of local standards and processes
• Knowledge of civil/Combined Services Routes

You will also carry sound analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, as well as organisational and well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. You will have completed year 12 VCE or equivalent, and hold relevant Engineering Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Communications or Computer Systems. Experience working within the railway environment is desirable. As the Senior Commercial & Contracts Manager, you will develop and assist with the management of commercial, financial, statutory and regulatory requirements for the Metro Rail Projects Victoria Team to achieve optimum efficiencies and sound commercial, contractual and financial management. You will also be providing expert input into the development of commercial initiatives according to MTM priorities for the Metro Tunnel Project. Duties may include, but are not limited to: Program Level (across all works)
This role is within the:
The Metro Tunnel Project is delivered in three work packages, with a program level team assisting each package. The three work packages are: Rail Systems Alliance, Rail Infrastructure Alliance and the Tunnels and Stations Public Private Partnership.
About the role:

• Develop and achieve commercial reporting requirements and deadlines to protect the integrity of commercial information provided to Rail Projects Victoria
• Appraise commercial requirements and make recommendations in respect to work methods and techniques
• Manage the accurate recording of commercial and contract issues for each Package including the variations and claims processes
• Manage the commercial expectations of all internal stakeholders ensuring the provision of quality, financial and administrative support either by way of reporting or systems improvements
• Driving and developing the Contracts Management, Procurement and Finance team on the project
• Preparation of portfolio financial reports and assisting in the preparation of both monthly and quarterly reports as required including “causal analysis”
• Preparing and/or defending contractual claims and variations in conjunction with the legal support team

You will possess demonstrated experience at senior management level in a commercial and financial environment and extensive experience in Project Accounting/Commercial Management in a multi project environment. You will also have experience with computer-based management reporting systems and excellent knowledge of commercial management and commercial acumen in a rail industry construction environment or a large construction project environment. You will hold tertiary qualification in Commerce/Business or Accounting, with qualifications in project management desirable.

About the role: As the Senior Communications Project Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the definition, design, development, test and commissioning of communications infrastructure to be delivered within RSA’s scope of works for the project. MTM are required to integrate newly delivered systems into the operational environment along with providing ongoing engineering support post commissioning. Tasks will include liaising with professional and technical staff, scope definition, requirements derivation, interface definition, design issue management and integration/commissioning activities. You will have knowledge of MTM’s Completion obligations under the Public Administration Act (PAA) including engaging with key stakeholders and supporting the successful delivery of the project. If successful, you will ultimately contribute to the specification, development, installation and through life support of OCS/ICT communications arrangements. About your experience: You will have demonstrated experience in:

• Co-ordinating complex rail systems designs
• Whole of life Systems engineering activities (at least five years of Systems Engineering or related experience)
• Undertaking fibre optic cabling design including cable running plans, cable records, specifications, link budgets, core allocations and testing and commissioning documents
• Railway systems (specifically technology systems) or equivalent industrial operational environment is desirable
• Knowledge of local standards and processes
• Knowledge of civil/Combined Services Routes

You will also carry sound analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, as well as organisational and well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. You will have completed year 12 VCE or equivalent, and hold relevant Engineering Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Communications or Computer Systems. Experience working within the railway environment is desirable. Additionally, you value the importance of teamwork and of listening, challenging your peers and making a difference. You are confident to bring innovation to the table. You have the agility to engage with a variety of stakeholders at all levels and the ability to manage multiple priorities while remaining focused on excellence.
