The Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) was established in 2015 to oversee the largest rail infrastructure project in Victoria’s history, including the elimination of 75 dangerous and congested level crossings across Melbourne. To date, 29 level crossings have been removed, 18 train stations have been rebuilt, new track has been laid, and three level crossing removals are now in construction. A career defining opportunity exists for an experienced Director, Engineering to join the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), working on one of the largest transport infrastructure projects in Victoria's history.
Reporting to the Director Engineering & Program Services, the Director, Engineering will be responsible for providing expert Engineering leadership, support and guidance across the whole of the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP).
The role will functionally lead all Engineering divisions across LXRP which includes Engineering Management, Technical Services and Project Completions. The team includes a wide range of technical disciplines distributed within roles both at the whole of Program level and embedded within the LXRP delivery packages. All Engineering divisions exist to support and drive value for the Project Owner in the development and delivery phases of the LXRP projects.
As the successful candidate you will have proven design and delivery experience in the infrastructure contracting environment and specifically, demonstrated senior leadership in and across multiple infrastructure projects. Operating in a project delivery environment your success will require a strong foundation of technical capability coupled with a passion for leading others. The mark of your success will be the achievement of your team both functional and within a matrixed structure.
Addressing the above, key to your application will be your proven ability to foster the development and growth of a highly collaborative Engineering team culture. Your demonstrated skills in strong people leadership with the lens of continuous improvement, innovation and self-improvement is an essential requirement of this role.
