Jobs hub offers Metro Tunnel chances for all

Posted: 14th Aug

From tradies to tunnel-boring crews, Victorian job seekers now have a one-stop shop for the Metro Tunnel Project.

MetroHub – a partnership between Cross Yarra Partnership (CYP) and Holmesglen Institute of TAFE – will oversee jobs and training for workers building the Project’s tunnels and stations.

Apprentices, engineering graduates and other CYP employees will all pass through its doors but MetroHub is open to any job seeker.

To express your interest visit MetroHub at Holmesglen’s CBD campus, at 332 St Kilda Road, Southbank or the Metro Tunnel website.

MetroHub is also focused on opportunities for priority job seekers through Holmesglen Institute’s Skills and Jobs Centre, Whitelion, CareerSeekers and the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre.

The Metro Tunnel Project will create nearly 7,000 jobs, 5,000 of which are on the tunnels and stations phase.

MetroHub will help CYP to meet the Major Project Skills Guarantee, which requires at least 10 per cent of all work hours to be undertaken by apprentices, trainees or engineering cadets.
