Help build the 65 bigger, better trains in Morwell

Posted: 15th Mar

A recruitment drive is about to start in the Latrobe Valley as part of the High Capacity Metro Trains Project.

The project is looking to fill the roles with skilled people from the Morwell area, with around 25 new jobs based in Morwell.

Jobs range from manufacturing workers and electrical technicians to project managers, quality controllers and administrative support positions.

The electrical trades skills of the Latrobe Valley’s power industry workforce makes Morwell the ideal location for this new manufacturing facility.

The facility will manufacture the traction system for the new trains, which make the trains move. Completed parts will then be sent to Newport in Melbourne, where the trains will be assembled and fitted out.

An information session is being held in Morwell on Monday 20 March for interested job seekers. For more information about the session visit the Downer Group website.
