In this role you will provide a range of procurement, contract management assistance, report presentation and administration services to the Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV). The role will assist and support the Goods and Services Procurement team with low value procurements, contract management, records management, report coordination and other administration support.

About MRPV

Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) was established to deliver a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of key road projects across Victoria, including new roads, road widenings, new bridges and major freeway upgrades. MRPV manages complex and strategically important road projects from business case development through to completion connecting local communities and supporting Victoria's growing economy.

The Role

We now have a vacancy for a Procurement Officer to join our team on a Permanent Full Time basis. Reporting to the Procurement Manager – Operations and Compliance, the Procurement Officer will provide a range of procurement, contract management assistance, report presentation and administration services to the Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV). The role will assist and support the Goods and Services Procurement team with low value procurements, contract management, records management, report coordination and other administration support. 

Key Responsibilities

  • In this role you will apply Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) and Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (MTIA) procurement policies, practices, processes and templates to deliver procurement and contract management assistance. This includes the preparation of procurement documentation, reports, data entry and other administrative tasks as required.
  • Contribute to the preparation of procurement and contract management plans, reports, and correspondence as well as undertake transactional low value / low risk procurement activities for the procurement team.
  • You will access and utilise existing contract systems and databases to provide analysis and prepare reports including the development, maintenance and production of a range of reports.
  • You will create and maintain contract record databases as well as assist senior team members with electronic records management to ensure that an audit trail is adequately documented for probity, accountability, and audit purposes.
  • Establish and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About you

  • Experience in conducting procurement processes, applying procurement policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrable experience in contract administration and the preparation of related reports.
  • Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management to successfully plan and deliver procurement activities despite competing priorities and within tight deadlines.
  • High level of analytical skills and acute attention to detail, particularly in the preparation and review of documents.
  • High level communication skills with the ability to work autonomously, self-manage and prioritise work to ensure the provision of quality and timely procurement outputs for MRPV in a high paced changing environment with changing business priorities.
  • You will be experienced in the use of procurement and contract management software applications, MS Office (including Excel and Word) and experience with contract and records management systems.

Experience within a Government environment would be highly regarded.

A tertiary qualification or professional certification relevant to the role is highly desirable.
