JOB DESCRIPTION

Metro are looking to recruit a Graduate Program Lead to develop, design, review, manage and support the delivery of the graduate program on behalf of the Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) business. This role will interface with all areas of the business to ensure the programs is meeting business needs, reviewing and adapting as required,leading internal and external stakeholder engagement to assist in building the MTM brand and mentoring / supporting Graduates throughout their placements.

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Develop, design, monitor and amend the content/structure of the program to support Graduate Engineer capability and meet business needs.
  • Manage evaluation and monitoring of graduate program to ensure success.
  • Develop business case to ensure approval of annual intake
  • Work with the People/Talent Acquisition team to manage and coordinate intake of graduates onto the program
  • Develop, recommend and manage budgets relating to graduate program
  • Ensure Graduates meet the minimum requirements of the program and provide advice, coaching and guidance as required
  • Promote and be the first point of contact for the program across tertiary institutions and to the industry
  • Partner with management and employees to improve working relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Oversee and manage the Graduate Program rotations, professional development activities (training exercises, education workshops) and networking functions

In order to be successful you will possess the following;

  • Completion of Certificate III Business Administration commensurate with supporting senior management (minimum) or equivalent experience
  • Ability to collect, analyse and present workplace data and information
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff (verbal and written)
  • Ability to deal with and resolve general enquiries using a high level of diplomacy and sensitivity
  • Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to
  • Ability to use proficient skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and related software packages
  • Substantial experience providing service across multiple business areas in a large organisation
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work
  • Knowledge of accounting, data and administrative management practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of human resources management practices and procedures
