MEDICAL REVIEW DRIVING TEST OFFICER

  • Annual Salary Range: VR03 $69,937 - $85,089 + superannuation
  • Tenure: Ongoing
  • Employment Type: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual Work Location: Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available)

About the Business Area

At VicRoads, we need to make sure all licenced drivers are medically fit to drive and have the necessary skills to drive safely. This is for the driver's safety, as well as the safety of everyone else on the road. We do this by carrying out fitness to drive assessments or medical reviews, aligned to the national medical standards for licensing (Assessing Fitness to Drive for commercial and private vehicle drivers).


About the Role

This role is primarily conducting practical on-road driving tests for Medical Review customers in accordance within established policies and procedures, business rules and VicRoads customer service protocols. You will be required to determine an immediate result for the medical review drive test and use effective communication skills, utilising words, and diagrams to communicate effectively, providing advice and face to face feedback on the outcome of the test to the customer. You must have the ability to make recommendations to the customer to maximise their opportunity to regain their driver licence giving verbal and written reports regarding the customer's driving test. The ideal candidate must exercise professional judgement and work constructively with colleagues to contribute to case management decisions.

Day to Day Duties

  • Travel to customer locations (metro and rural) and Conduct on-road Medical Review driving tests
  • Provide advice and face to face feedback on the outcome of the Medical Review driving test
  • Handle customer enquires face to face and by phone
  • Prepare written reports regarding the customer's driving assessment outcome
  • Update all relevant VicRoads systems with drive test outcomes

About the Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience in VicRoads Licence Testing and will have strong customer service and problem-solving skills, together with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. The person will be able to demonstrate strong values of integrity, respect, empathy and accountability and the ability to work individually and as part of a diverse team.
