The Project

The Early Works package involves performing services in two phases of planning and delivery, the majority of which comprise utility services under a Managing Contractor arrangement.

The Works associated with this role include the design, development and removal, relocation and/or protection of a substantial number of utility services including large and medium water utility assets, gas utility assets, and telecommunications and electrical utility assets.

Construction on the Early Works package has commenced and is set to be completed in 2022.

Your Opportunity

We are seeking applications from highly skilled Senior Project Engineers with experience in civil infrasturcture and/or building, to join the North East Link Early Works team.

As Senior Project Engineer, you will be accountable for

  • Coordinating and administering construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
  • Assisting with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports
  • Monitoring construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Project Manager
  • Interpreting designs for implementation in construction projects
  • Contributing to improvements to existing designs
  • Demonstrating financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions
  • Assigning work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards
  • Executing working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the project
  • Undertaking quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes
  • Analysing and use document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance reporting
  • Managing and mentor a team of project, site and graduate engineers
  • Demonstrating sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes.

  • A relevant civil engineering or construction related tertiary qualification
  • Experience in delivering large work packages and managing project engineers on civil projects
  • Experience working on sports and recreation facilities an advantage.
  • Previous experience with civil infrastructure / services / pipelines
  • A strong ability to effectively manage budgets, systems and stakeholders to achieve an exceptional outcome
  • Extensive experience in delivering large civil projects in Australia
  • Demonstrated leadership in promoting safe and environmentally friendly work practices
