The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Business Systems Officer to join the IT team at MRPV. With a strong customer service focus, this position is responsible for all IT hardware, software, telephony, and device management for the Major Road Project Victoria (MRPV). The position will also provide administration support to the MRPV Business Services team and others as required.

The role will require managing relationships within MRPV, Department of Transport (DOT) and other support providers, to ensure that there is a high level of understanding of business needs, and outcomes are consistent with business requirements. 

This is a fixed term position for 3 years.

Other accountabilities include:

  • Providing front-line technical support to project staff for MRPV and other business applications and hardware.
  • Acting as a point of contact between MRPV, CenITex and other vendors as required.
  • Manage the support life cycle of AV and interactive technologies including procurement, device configuration and ongoing support.
  • Support the procurement, coordination and asset management of IT hardware, software and infrastructure needs and ensure that all staff are provided with the appropriate resources and access to business applications and information. Liaise with third-party providers and suppliers to ensure consistency with Departmental guidelines and policies.
  • Assist in the coordination of accommodation requests, including AV requirements for business units.
  • Research and review technology requirements when required.

 About you

You will

  • have previous experience operating in a fast paced, project-focused environment, providing IT technical support
  • be highly analytical, organised, process-driven and detail-oriented, with the ability to investigate business needs, problems and opportunities and translate requirements into functional specifications and IT solutions.
  • Strong exposure in configuring Audio Visual (AV) and interactive technologies, as well as applications, such as Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft 365, Lotus Notes 9 and MicroFocus Content Manager 9
