As the Level Crossing Removal Project continues to deliver a safer and more efficient train network, the Metro team involved in this large-scale project is expanding to respond to current and future works. Metro Trains Melbourne are currently seeking a experienced Completions Engineer to support current & future Level Crossing Removal projects as part of the Western Program Alliance. This large-scale project will benefit train users, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers by improving safety, reducing congestion and enabling more frequent train services.

This position is a full time permanent role, primarily based from our alliance head offices in Footscray, travelling across & supporting current and future sites within the western corridor.

Key Responsibilities

As a Completions Engineer within the project delivery team, you will:

  • Manage the completions process for the Alliance while adhering to Metro asset requirements as well as other stakeholder requirements (eg. Local councils, VicRoads and other rail operators) 
  • Review of submissions (EACRs, Images, Forms and Certificates) for completeness and quality
  • Manage the handover process at project completion ensuring that all the key stakeholders are involved and that project documentation is completed in accordance with procedures
  • Work with the Alliance Quality Team to manage the red line process and as built drawing process
  • Work with the Alliance Quality Team to manage all MTM defects 
  • Work with LXRP Completions team to ensure successful upload of MTM completion documentation submissions
  • Manage completions inspections with various stakeholders

About You:

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Completions or Quality experience in a construction environment (site-based experience will be favourable)
  • Exposure to multi-disciplinary rail projects preferable
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to assess functional specifications for compliance
  • Demonstrated experience of working with a high level of accuracy and ability to adhere to tight timeframes
  • Strong communication skills when dealing with internal/external stakeholders
