We are currently seeking a Signalling Project Manager for work on our Level Crossing Removal Portfolio, on the Metropolitan Roads Program Alliance!

The Role:

In this role, you will provide effective project management of specific signaling projects, drawing together MTM’s requirements as a client and ensuring OH&S, quality, cost, time and scope parameters of the projects are adequately set out and achieved.


This is a full-time permanent role, primarily based at our Alliance office in Richmond, with some travel to our site locations along Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs where required. 


As an MTM employee you will have access to free-travel along the network and will also have access to a pooled vehicle. 


This role will require you to be available for rail Occupations (shutting the rail network down for construction activities to safely take place); Occupations can take place at night, weekends or, public holidays. 


Accountabilities:


• Responsible for the effective project management of assigned signalling projects which includes scope, planning, costing, design, construction, testing, commissioning and commercial management. 
• Provide effective project management by;
o defining scope of works for projects and obtaining client signoff;
o providing budget estimate to the client and obtaining client signoff;
o preparing project plans and schedules;
o negotiating resource availability;
o securing appropriate project resources; and
o directing projects through to implementation into commissioning and reporting on timelines.
• Manage any contracts, and Contractors, engaged to deliver the project, including contract administration, ensuring that all contractual requirements are met and that the Project is delivered on site.
• Provide specialist support on technical aspects of the project and liaise with nominated external specialist support resources.

Desired experience:


• Tertiary qualification in Engineering admitting to corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers (Australia)
• Extensive signalling experience on rail based projects
• Demonstrated experience in the engineering principles of planning and scheduling.
• Experience in the testing and commissioning process
• Knowledge of engineering report preparation techniques.
• Previous experience working with MTM and the works readiness procedure is preferred
