About the opportunity
The Senior Project Manager, TCMS Coordination is a new role within the recently formed Signalling Strategy Taskforce (SST). This role has been specifically created to support the operation and coordination of Train Control Management System (TCMS) project works being delivered by Siemens and MTM in support of various Melbourne metropolitan rail projects and upgrade works.
The Senior Project Manager, TCMS Coordination will report to the Director, Contract Strategy and Industry Engagement but will be required to work collaboratively with all members of the SST as well as members of the MTM/Siemens TCMS Secure Resource Pool (SRP). The Senior Project Manager, TCMS Coordination will, through consultation with other members of the TCMS SRP, be responsible for developing, monitoring and reporting on TCMS related project activity, status, resource utilisation and risks. Where necessary the Senior Project Manager, TCMS Coordination will also proactively identify potential risk mitigation measures and recommendations to avoid or minimise the impacts of identified TCMS related risks to the achievement of successful project outcomes (i.e. schedule, cost, quality).
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate significant direct experience working in collaborative environments to successfully coordinate a common resource pool servicing the needs of multiple projects. Experience in the rail engineering and/or software development fields is also preferred. This is a hands-on role where the ability to work collaboratively with other industry participants, including 3rd parties, to solve problems proactively and constructively will be highly valued. This role will contribute to, and influence, technical and people development issues, positive team culture, and the achievement of improved certainty of delivery for the rail network.
