Metro Trains is a proud partner in the delivery of major rail infrastructure projects across Melbourne, including the Metro Tunnel Project. The Metro Tunnel Project will deliver more frequent services for passengers by unlocking the City Loop and introducing new technology and infrastructure that will transform our network.
About the Project:
The Metro Tunnel Project is being delivered in three work packages, with a program level team (RPVP) assisting each package. The three work packages are: Rail Systems Alliance, Rail Infrastructure Alliance and the Tunnels & Stations Public Private Partnership. The role supports the Program level team based at 222 Exhibition Street and 700 Collins Street.
About the role:
The role will be responsible for providing financial, commercial and analytical support to develop and maintain the Metro Tunnel Operational Cost (Opex) model. The incumbent in the role will be responsible for:
Updating and improving the Metro Tunnel Opex model and providing commercial input to the annual update.
Aligning the Opex model with the model agreed with the State.
Providing Opex analysis for optioneering of scope decisions.
Preparing information to assist Commercial & Finance Passenger Delivery to produce Schedule 3 submissions.
Management of the O&M model including periodic reporting as required.
Taking ownership of rate cards including conducting regular audits to ensure rates are accurate and up to date.
Working with back office, design reviewers, business etc. to ensure completeness and design changes that have an operations impact has been captured and incorporated into the model.
Supporting the Commercial Manager to agree the overall strategy with internal and external stakeholders.
Developing presentations and documents for the effective communication of financial information.
About your experience:
Tertiary Qualification in Commerce / Business / Engineering or Accounting CPA / CA is not mandatory but desirable.
Demonstrated experience in the rail industry and a strong understanding of the monetary and safety impacts of changes to engineering and systems in an operational environment will be highly regarded.
